still in connecticut
Our house has sold this week, praise God!!! This means, I’m going to stay in Ct & try to find somewhere for us to live. I won’t be home for a while so, in the mean time, enjoy these pics from my last organizing gig.
I had lots of photos but can only post a few because I’m on a laptop with no mouse which is too much for my brain.
This house belongs to Cyndee W. from Ashki Photography & she was dying for more space.
When she built her house it was comfortable, spacious and had plenty of room—BUT…that was before her in-home photography studio, her love of couponing, a toddler, and her newborn baby.
Needless to say, things have gotten a wee bit cramped in their household.
I realized after my first walk-through that she really had nothing to fear. She had PLENTY of space, it was just disorganized.
And——-
Say it with me class, “disorganization causes frustration!”
After a quick trip to Ikea in Salt Lake City, we got busy organizing. This was the fastest whole house organizing job I’ve ever done but I was planning to be out of town, so it had to be done quickly.
We tackled every single room, closet & drawer in her house! It was speed organizing at it’s finest and she was right beside me all the while, going above and beyond what I ever expected!
(side note: It always helps when the client is really ready for a change and doesn’t just want a temporary fix from disorganization. Cyndee was more ready to change her disorganized lifestyle than anyone I’ve ever organized for which is saying a lot! In fact, if she wasn’t a fabulous photographer, I’m pretty sure she’d rock at professional organizing because it takes one to know one…)
These sample pics don’t jump out at you but it’s only because they’re flat and it’s hard to understand the blood, sweat and tears that went into this whole-house re-org. You can’t really see purging from a photo either. I think Cyndee made 4 hauls to the thrift stores, and she filled up her SUV each time.
A hint: The first key to organizing—
Get rid of junk you don’t need!!!!( Even if it’s pretty, or was a gift, or something you lost the receipt for or never used)
In the end, it’s junk that is cluttering up your house, lifestyle and it makes you feel icky!
Before and After: drawers

Laundry room/ wrapping station

the hate relationship most of us have with our pantry can be helped.

Good night, and good organizing!!!
